SKY ZONE TRAMPOLINE PARK - Silverdale, WA

Sky Zone in Silverdale is an indoor trampoline and adventure park where kids can bounce, flip, and race out their energy in a bright, high‑energy space. The park features wall‑to‑wall trampolines, dodgeball courts, foam pits, and other jump attractions so there’s plenty to do whether your kids want to practice tricks, play games with friends, or just bounce around on a rainy Kitsap day. It’s also set up with seating for parents, snacks, and easy in‑and‑out access, making it a convenient stop during errands or an all‑afternoon outing.

Parks on the Olympic Peninsula are perfect built‑in pit stops where you can pull over, let the kids unwind, and stretch your own legs on short trails and waterfront paths. From grassy playgrounds and picnic spots to forested loop hikes and beach access, these county and city parks break up your drive and turn “are we there yet?” into time outside together.

As you explore, send us a quick message about your favorite park—where it is, what you loved (playground, views, trails, wildlife), and any tips for other families—and we may feature it to help other Peninsula Explorer travelers plan their stops.

The Washington Trails Association has an amazing website, with a wealth of knowledge. These folks are amazing and I encourage you to support them in way possible.

Fort Worden State Park: All‑Weekend Adventure With Kids

You could easily spend an entire weekend exploring Fort Worden State Park with your kids. Once a coastal military fort guarding Puget Sound, it’s now packed with mellow walking paths, wide‑open fields perfect for kite flying, driftwood‑strewn beaches, and the storybook‑pretty Point Wilson Lighthouse. The park also has a hands‑on marine science center with touch tanks and big skeleton displays, plus family‑friendly overnight stays in historic officer homes that feel like stepping into a living museum.

Kids love creeping through the echoing concrete bunkers, hunting for beach glass, and watching for otters and seabirds along the docks and shoreline. Between the playground‑style fields, easy trails, and sandy stretches, it’s the kind of place where you can let them roam, get sandy and tired, and still be just a short walk from snacks, bathrooms, and your cozy home base for the night.

"Life moves at its own pace out here — slower, realer.
You can smell the salt in the air and taste it in your coffee.
That’s the beauty of calling the Peninsula home."

“We grow more than lavender — we grow calm.
People come here for the scent, but they stay for the stillness.
The Peninsula teaches you how to breathe again.”

“When the rain falls, it feels like the world pauses just for us.
Locals drop in to chat more than to shop, and that’s fine by me.
Business here isn’t just about sales — it’s about connection.”

“Every sunrise paints the bay like a new canvas.
Living here reminds me why I chose to create in the first place.
Inspiration isn’t rare — it’s the rhythm of the Peninsula.”
